Mechanical Engineer II New London, CT, US Position Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II to join the Data Center Power and Control Team in New London, CT. The Mechanical Engineer II will be responsible for the design of new product mechanical components and assemblies, including product test validation. Working individually or as part of a design team to develop, evaluate and validate product designs and specifications. Also conducts design reviews, validates and approves documentation packages, preproduction builds and production transfer. Provides mentor guidance and support to engineering team members across disciplines. What Will You Do? Provide direction and project management for mechanical design and test validation efforts. Work with Product Marketing, Manufacturing and other Engineering personnel during product conceptualization phases and throughout the project phases. Work closely with Project Management to schedule, track and maintain up-to-date project schedules and milestone due-date requirements. Provide maintenance of existing mechanical products and documentation (design improvements, VAVE cost savings etc.) and product databases through the Engineering Change process. Design and develop mechanical systems and customized solutions, utilizing many methods such as injection molding, metal forming, casting and extrusion processes.
