Job Description: We have an opening for a Mechanical Technologist / Senior Mechanical Technologist . You will support ongoing programmatic activities, either independently or in collaboration with engineers, scientists, and technical staff. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the design of fixtures and assemblies, vacuum system setup and maintenance, gas system setup and maintenance, motion control system setup and maintenance, equipment setup and operation, troubleshooting, hardware modifications, and basic fabrication using common tools and equipment. You will help maintain operation of the facility, target areas, and supporting equipment. This position is in the National Ignition Facility and Photon Science Directorate (NIF & PS). This position is in the Laser Systems Engineering and Operations (LSEO) Division, within the Engineering Directorate specifically at the Jupiter Laser Facility (JLF).
