About this role

Data Center Engineer United States We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Center Engineer to join our team in Somerset, NJ. This role requires hands-on work with our physical servers, network infrastructure, and IT components across various colocation facilities. You'll be responsible for the physical setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server and network hardware, while ensuring smooth operations and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is energized by working in a cutting-edge data center environment that enables IMC to continue to be at the forefront of the evolving global financial markets. Core hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Travel to other data centers in the NJ area is required on occasion. Your Core Responsibilities: - Oversee the lifecycle of physical servers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components - Perform installation, configuration, and upkeep of server and network components in our data centers - Plan and implement efficient rack layouts, cabling schemes, and patching schedules to optimize data center operations - Diagnose hardware issues, coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements (RMA process), and ensure timely resolution - Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate hardware inventory, and manage stock levels of IT components - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of physical infrastructure, cabling layouts, rack configurations, and associated processes - Build and maintain strong working relationships with hardware vendors, colocation partners, and remote hands teams to support efficient operations - Maintain office IT infrastructure, including hardware and network systems Your Skills and Experience:
