About this role
Tax Manager United States of America - Irvine, California *THIS ROLE IS HYBRID AND REQUIRES ONSITE WORK AT OUR IRVINE OFFICE* Job Summary: The Tax Manager will work on various tax reporting, compliance and planning projects as directed by the Director of Tax. The Tax Manager will support and review month end close activities. Job Expectations: - Oversee the end-to-end preparation and filing of state, local, and international indirect tax returns. - Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax preparers, ensuring all data provided is accurate and filings meet all statutory deadlines. - Prepare and review US and foreign indirect tax filings and reconciliations. - Review and oversee monthly reconciliations of various tax accounts on the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. - Manage SOX control documentation. - Manage and gather information for tax authority audits, as well as other ad hoc projects. - Led communications and negotiations with tax authorities - Oversee the maintenance of the tax calendar, tax notice log, and carryover schedules. - Remain current and up-to-date on existing and upcoming tax laws. - Research tax issues in all applicable areas of tax including memorandum write-up of results and maintaining legislative materials by reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new or revised laws. - Serve as the functional lead for the company's tax engine (e.g., Vertex, Avalara), overseeing tax rule maintenance, jurisdictional mapping, and product taxability configurations. - Lead or play a key role in the end-to-end implementation of tax engine and serve as the
