Engineer II - Mechanical Design Chennai, TN Job Overview The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies of new and sustaining product-lines. They perform engineering activities ensuring the accomplishments of production, quality and cost-related objectives and the compliance with Hubbell quality product certifications. A Day In The Life Everyday at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you will make a difference by: Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOM's using CAD tools like Autodesk Inventor. Carry on "Engineering change management" activities using CAD tools and Fiori application. Apply GD&T principles, conduct design reviews, collaborate with CFT like quality, marketing and supply chain team. Support prototype development, testing and validation activities. Maintain design documentation and ensure compliance with engineering standards. Work within SAP for product data management and change control processes. Provide sustaining engineering support for existing products including design updates, issue resolution, and cost reduction initiatives. Continuously improve designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance. What will help you thrive in this role? Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4-6 years of experience in product design and development. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
