Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist Phoenix, AZ, United States Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist Phoenix, AZ, United States (Hybrid) BE THE FIRST TO APPLY Job Description As a Lead Research and Development (R&D) Engineer/Scientist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for developing the next generation of turbine engine-based propulsion systems for the aerospace industry. By collaborating with customers and Honeywell engineering teams, you will define products and supporting technology development roadmaps to meet customer requirements. You will be a technical focal point across Honeywell Aerospace Technologies engineering teams creating solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will provide Program Management and Project Engineering leadership to execute internal and external programs that define the propulsion and power systems needed by our customers. You will utilize your engineering background and systems engineering fundamentals to manage integrated product teams. You will leverage advanced tools and techniques to deliver high impact business results while serving as a technical leader and coach to other engineers and technology stakeholders. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and/or support 1-3 programs simultaneously with >$1M total annual expenditures Execute advanced engine conceptual design collaborative work preceding and/or resulting from customer pursuits. Establish program technical requirements, statement of work, sales contracts, program charter, and work breakdown structure Setup and initiate programs and institute Program Management Operating Systems to ensure contract execution within cost and schedule constraints while achieving technical objectives Lead supporting project engineering and functional design teams Utilize the Honeywell Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and subject matter expertise
