About this role

Embedded Software Engineer Intern Paris, Île-de-France, France About Us Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces. Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected. About the Role The Radio team needs additional capacity to support an ongoing project roadmap around the radio. We have more well-scoped embedded work - firmware, drivers, validation tooling, documentation - than current bandwidth allows. As an Embedded Software Engineer Intern, you will join the team to contribute to the embedded software stack that runs on and around this radio - from low-level firmware and drivers up to the tooling and infrastructure used to validate it. The scope is intentionally broad: you will get exposure to the full embedded software lifecycle in the context of a custom hardware project. The duration of this internship is 5-6 months. Responsibilities - Firmware development: Actively contribute to the development of the firmware for the radio and its surrounding embedded platform, utilizing C within an Eclipse ThreadX real-time environment. - Low-Level Integration: Implement, and debug low-level drivers and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART) to manage interfaces between the chip and host systems. -
