About this role
Engineering Designer II General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. Under general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for providing technical design solutions for a range of difficult design problems for structural products and components of products using computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and technical engineering software such as (NX/Siemens, ProEngineer/CREO, or SOLIDWORKS) and utilize Product Lifecycle Management Systems (PLM) such as (WINDCHILL and TEAMCENTER). We are seeking a candidate with extensive hands-on experience in Siemens NX and Teamcenter, as strong expertise in both platforms is essential for this role. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of objectives and anticipated results. Work is reviewed at milestones for adequacy in meeting objectives. Responsible for documenting findings, communicating results to engineering staff and may make technical design presentations as required. Typically has frequent intra-organizational contact and may have some customer contact. May provide direction to less experienced designers and support staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develops design solutions for assigned structural products and components. - Interact closely with engineering staff to refine design concepts and track progress. - Take ownership of design responsibility for significant portions of projects. - Develop solid models, layouts, sketches, and drawings of parts and assemblies, and may investigate design factors such as damage tolerance, durability, and structural modeling. - Participate in design reviews and integrate feedback from engineering analysis, test results,
