Engineer V General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Material and Process Engineer with our ASI Division, located in Poway, CA. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide technical expertise in metallic Additive Manufacturing, metallurgical analysis, material processing, mechanical testing, nondestructive inspection, and related materials technologies. - Establish materials laboratory procedures. Perform material related failure investigations to determine root cause and provide corrective action recommendations. - Investigate and implement material related design and manufacturing process improvements. - Resolve manufacturing and nonconformance issues as they relate to materials and finishes. - Participate in Supplier Quality Audits for metallic processes and finishes. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. - Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
