For more information, please visit www.genedx.com . Important: This position requires a four-day, 10-hour work schedule with shifts ranging from Tuesday through Friday and including Saturdays. Standard weekday hours are 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM, while Saturday hours are 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM including a pay shift differential. Summary The Accessioner I is responsible for the receiving and accessioning of all patient specimens, and following established policies and procedures, in a professional manner. Job Responsibilities Learns and follows the established standard operating procedures for sample handling and record keeping. Receives and triages patient specimens. Assigns each specimen an accession number and creates a patient chart. Enters patient information into LIMS database, with strict adherence to HIPPA laws. Transports all accessioned specimens to the DNA extraction team and/or cell culture team, as appropriate. Label patient documents with barcode for later scanning of patient charts through OnBase. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance, takes authorized corrective action, and notifies key individuals.
