Electric Locator I - II City Jefferson Job Title: Work Place Flexibility: Legal Entity: ***Position can be filled as Electric Locator I or Electric Locator II depending on qualifications and experience*** Electric Locator I SUMMARY: Entry-level position responsible for locating a single utility under supervision. Requires physical stamina and basic technical skills to support utility protection efforts. RESPONSIBILITIES: Be a safety champion; obey all safe work procedures, perform daily Hazard Assessments, maintain vehicle inspections, attend all required safety meetings, complete all safety mandated training and report any safety events including near misses. Capable of completing assigned single locating ticket Load with supervision. Capable of closing out locate tickets on a tablet or computer Can accurately locate, paint and flag one utility. Able to read all maps and/or prints for one utility. Inspect and report defective pedestals, meters, transformers etc. Controls and safeguards keys assigned to them for use on customer's property. Detect and report suspected tampering with pedestals and equipment. Record all completed tickets (work), utilizing proper codes. Record/document inconsistencies in locating area. Must have basic computer skills. Other duties as needed.
