About this role

Supervisory Social Worker (PACT and M2VA) Anchorage, Alaska Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Duties This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. All eligible applicants will be reviewed and referred to the hiring manager at regular two-week intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis. Supervisory: Supervises PACT and M2VA Social Workers and interdisciplinary program staff and provides technical and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work in both services. Performs the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised. Exercises supervisory authority and responsibilities involving work assignments and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised. Independently provides consultation services to other staff within the clinic, division, and medical center regarding the psychosocial needs of Veterans, the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and adherence to treatment planning related to PACT Social Work and the M2VA program. Provides leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues impacting Veterans and staff, and initiates and participates in ethical consultations as appropriate.
