About this role
Staff Psychologist- Community Living Center San Francisco, California Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Duties Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The VA Community Living Center (CLC) is a nursing home setting and is reflective of VA's commitment to provide care that is resident focused and enhances Veteran preferences and choice. The CLC provides palliative care, rehabilitation, medical management, and care coordination services to veterans with disabilities and complex chronic health conditions. Interdisciplinary CLC teams include representatives from medicine service, nursing, pharmacy, social work, rehabilitation, chaplaincy, nutrition and psychology. The CLC psychologist provides a range of assessments and evaluations including screening, assessment and diagnosis of mental health and cognitive disorders; screening for cognitive deficits to address specific functional questions; assessing capacity questions as indicated; assessing patients understanding of advanced directives and other forms of consent and assisting staff in determining how to present treatment options and other such materials to patients in a format they can understand.
