Registered Nurse -Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Resident Kansas City, Missouri Summary Kansas City VA is recruiting Registered Nurse Transition to Practice (RNTTP) Program Residents. The focal point of this program is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. The RNTTP Resident serves in this role over the course of a 12-month period. Duties This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will remain on file through December 31, 2026. Eligible applicants will be reviewed and referred bi-weekly starting 01/30/2026 as vacancies occur or on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Please upload transcript (official or unofficial) - Required The major duties and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse Transition-to-Practice includes but are not limited to: Delivering fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills and competent practice while providing care to clients. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on age-specific components. Assuming responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administering medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Completing orientation according to expected standards. Working with close supervision, is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and seeks direction from others as needed. Managing workload as assigned, organizes, and completes own assignments in an efficient and appropriate manner Establishing a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to attain, maintain or regain optimal
