Registered Nurse - Critical Care Float Iowa City, Iowa Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Duties At Iowa City VA Health Care System, Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care Float nurses deliver high-intensity, evidence-based care to Veterans at risk for life-threatening conditions-educating, coordinating, and advocating to improve safety, satisfaction, and outcomes across the continuum of care. As a Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care Float, you'll provide vigilant, evidence-based care, partner with an interdisciplinary team, and help shape practice through education, quality improvement, and shared learning-ensuring compassionate coordination and stronger outcomes for those who served. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Being responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Coordinating care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administering medications and performing procedures per established policies and guidelines. Collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes.
