About this role

Psychologist (Supportive Recovery Services) Bronx, New York Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Duties The Psychologist is located in the Supportive Recovery Services section (Substance Use Disorder clinic) of the Mental Health Patient Care Center at the James J. Peters (Bronx) VA Medical Center. Duties include, but are not limited to, a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment, and using the most appropriate, evidence-based psychotherapeutic intervention techniques in providing quality care in the delivery of a full range of psychological and multidisciplinary services in the Supportive Recovery Services (SRS) at the James J. Peters VAMC. The incumbent may participate in tele-mental health or similar activities to provide service for Veterans. The psychologist will provide evidenced based, recovery-oriented services to veterans with substance use disorders and other co-morbid mental health conditions as part of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in SRS. The psychologist will function as a full member of the substance use disorder program's mental health team, including but not limited to active participation in treatment team meetings as well as engaging with Veterans as appropriate and requested through intake evaluations, psychological assessment,
