Physician -Staff (Assistant Chief) Primary Care Asheville, North Carolina Summary Staff Physician (Assistant Chief), Primary Care Service, provides the primary clinical treatment to patients of the Medical Center Recruitment/Relocation Incentive May Be Authorized for Highly Qualified Applicants. This is an Open-Continuous announcement that will remain open until the position is filled. Applications will be reviewed in the order received and will be sent to the hiring manager for consideration. Duties VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Duties include but are not limited to the following: The physicians practice medicine in accordance with their professional training and experience and within the scope of their medical center privileges. Assistant Chief Primary Care service is responsible to the Chief of Primary Care. Work is also subject to Peer Review and Ongoing and Focused Periodic Performance Evaluation by the Medical Staff Executive Committee. Provides a full range of clinical services including assessment and using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care in their specialty. Performs appropriate evaluation and management of patients. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions to units/programs in the Medical Center to which they are assigned and has clinical privileges to practice including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation, and management. Participates effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences, and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members in a manner that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care. Orders diagnostic tests and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions Ensures that the practice of medicine
