Physician (Psychiatry)- Recruitment/Relocation Incentive/EDRP Authorized Dallas, Texas Summary This vacancy will remain open until filled. The first cut-off date is 06/04/2026. Duties A full-time staff psychiatrist position is available on the Homeless Domiciliary team at the VA North Texas Health Care System Mental Health Service (VANTHCS MHS) in Dallas, TX. This position is fully in-person. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Duties are but not limited to: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment) to patients residing in the Homeless Domiciliary at the Dallas VA Medical Center. Incumbent must be skilled in general outpatient psychiatry, including diagnostic evaluations, pharmacotherapy, and psychotherapy. They should be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population. The incumbent should be comfortable managing patients with concurrent psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial challenges. The incumbent should be comfortable providing care for scheduled and unscheduled patients including performing briefer triage-style visits. The incumbent will serve as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary mental health team at the Dallas VA Medical Center as well as the larger combined team of all residential programs at VANTHCS. They may provide coverage to other residential programs based on service needs. Incumbent is encouraged to be involved in medical student, psychiatry resident and addiction psychiatry
