Start, continue, or finish your career here | VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System(youtube.com) Duties The Physician Radiologist-Service Chief provides medical imaging interpretation of studies and related procedures to the adult Veteran patients at the VA ECHCS. Duties include but are not limited to: Clinical: - Provide expert, professional radiology consultative services; guide residents, fellows, attending physicians and other staff in the associated complexities and proper uses of radiology diagnosis and therapeutic interventions. - Mentor radiology residents or fellows; monitor progress and assess their appropriate core competencies or school objectives. - Serve as one of the principal clinical advisors to the Chief of staff's office for the overall scope of the care provided by the Imaging Service. - Overall responsibility to plan, develop and direct the imaging service in all modalities across all sites. This includes fiscal responsibilities, process improvement, quality improvement, quality assurance, adherence to local, VA, and federal policies as well as guidance set forth by governing bodies. - Interpret and record studies performed within the Imaging Service; verbally contact responsible clinicians on all potentially significant findings; maintain timeliness of image interpretation. - Examine internal structures and functions of organ systems to assist in diagnoses after correlation
