Physician - Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics and Extended Care (ACOS-GEC) Chicago, Illinois Summary The Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics and Extended Care (ACOS-GEC) reports directly to the Chief of Staff (COS) located primarily on our main campus in Chicago, Illinois and has a wide range of inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities encompassing the administration of medical care and treatment to Veterans in the Chicago and Northwest Indiana area. The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this occupational series. For more information, refer to Required Documents below. Duties The Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics and Extended Care (ACOS-GEC) oversees all matters related to the internal and external operations of the service ensuring that the network mission is met while operating in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) policies and standards of Federal and accrediting agencies external to VA. The duties are both clinical and administrative in nature and involve the entire operation of the Geriatrics and Extended Care program - the Community Living Center (CLC), Home Based Primary Care (HBPC), Contract Adult Day Health Care (CADHC), Contract Community Nursing Home Program (CNH), GeriPACT, the Dementia Program, Home Hospice Program, and Homemaker/Home Health Aide Program (H/HHA).
