About this role

Nursing Assistant - Medical Surgical Unit Fargo, North Dakota Summary Join the Fargo VA Health Care System as a Nursing Assistant on the Medical-Surgical Unit. This role provides essential bedside care, supporting acutely and chronically ill Veterans through direct patient care, monitoring, mobility assistance, specimen collection, and safe operation of equipment in a fast-paced acute care environment. Duties Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include, but not limited to: Assist with transfers, ambulation, activities of daily living, and 1:1 sitter coverage. Provide direct care to acutely and chronically ill patients, reporting changes in condition to the nurse. Obtain and record vital signs, I&O, blood glucose results, and monitor IV flow. Complete delegated EKGs and support complex diagnostic procedures as directed. Recognize and intervene in emergent situations. Observe and document skin condition, general appearance, and patient responses to care. Assemble, operate, clean, and reprocess reusable medical equipment per guidelines.
