Medical Admin Specialist (Enrollment) Las Vegas, Nevada Summary The incumbent serves as a Medical Administrative Specialist Supervisor within the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. The incumbent will be primarily located at the VASNHS Medical Center but may be assigned to different work areas based on need. The incumbent as sound knowledge of inpatient and outpatient services. Duties The Supervisory Medical Administration specialist position is involved in an extremely complex blend of computing technology, medical information, communication skills, and leadership qualities in a rapidly changing environment. The incumbent of this position must possess extensive computer knowledge in creating and capturing data. He/She will be responsible for coordinating and supporting mechanisms for successful data capture. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent data is entered into the VHA computer systems. He/she will establish in-depth training to ensure that Patient Benefits staff and other identified Medical Center staff are educated and accountable for data management. Duties for the position include but not limited to: Coordinates the collection of data concerning Patient Benefits administrative activities, makes computations as required and reports monthly, quarterly or annually to management. He/she receives requests from other sources and determines the best method of obtaining, computing, and reporting. Assure that clerks follow all VA directives, policies, and procedures and that they completes the required mandatory training for Patient Benefits clerks. Responsible for assuring that clerks update all demographic and insurance information for Veterans by utilizing the Pre-registration menu and the insurance card scanners. Responsible for
