Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (Specialty Care) Kerrville, Texas Summary Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse providing practical nursing care to Veterans in Specialty Care clinics across multiple medical specialties. Duties include recording vital signs, obtaining intake histories, completing clinical reminders, assisting with physicals, wellness exams, diabetic foot exams, procedures, medications and treatments, patient/family education, documentation, recognizing urgent or emergent needs, and supporting performance measures under RN/provider supervision. Duties Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties spanning GS-3 through GS-6 include, but are not limited to: Provide practical nursing care to Veterans in Specialty Care clinics across multiple medical specialties. Record vital signs, obtain intake histories, complete clinical reminders, and assist providers with exams and other patient care needs. Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition to the RN, physician, or other appropriate provider. Follow approved nursing protocols, standing orders, Specialty Care SOPs, and PACT Handbook guidance. Maintain quality care, customer service, patient privacy, dignity, and age-appropriate care standards. GS-03 Duties Include: Perform assigned practical nursing duties as a novice under close supervision. Carry out basic patient care tasks requiring basic technical competence and skill. Support routine Specialty Care clinic activities such as vital signs, intake histories, and clinical reminders. Assist providers with physicals, diabetic foot exams, female wellness exams, and other assigned care needs. Follow direct supervisory guidance, approved protocols, and established procedures. GS-04 Duties Include: Perform basic practical nursing care assignments under frequent guidance. Observe, identify, and respond to patient nursing care needs in Specialty Care.
