Laborer Los Angeles, California Summary The position is at the full performance level located at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLA) in the Environmental Management Service (EMS). This position requires a security clearance due to the sensitive nature of materials. Duties This position is responsible for handling all confidential and sensitive materials for shredding, operates equipment related to the destruction, disposing and packaging of such materials and the recycling of various types of materials.This position requires a security clearance due to the sensitive nature of materials. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Position Description Title/PD#: Laborer/PD12029A Physical Requirements: Work consistently requires significant heavy physical effort in order to lift, move, push and pull recycling carts, bins, pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, equipment and supplies. The worker frequently lifts and carries objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds. The work involves frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching.
