About this role

Boiler Plant Operator Supervisor Palo Alto, California Summary The Boiler Plant Foreman is responsible for Boiler Plant Operations for the Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Livermore Divisions. Plant operations are 24-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week and affect every area of the Health Care System. Duties Major duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: Participates in Budget Planning and Energy Management processes, advises Engineering Service Management on utility requirements and needs. Provides accurate estimates of utility consumption and costs for current as well as future fiscal periods, regularly updating consumption/cost figures to ensure that management has accurate information concerning this major budget item. Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week and month-to month basis. Schedules, coordinates, directs all work and projects done by all trade units. Develops, reviews, and evaluates the unit's written production records to determine and/or adjust to proper progress and efficiency. Oversees the work of contractors and other trade specialists to ensure compliance with the terms of the contract. Prepares and recommends all personnel actions, including promotions, reassignments and disciplinary actions. Determines Unit's training needs and establishes schedules. Performs duties as Boiler Plant Operator, on an as needed basis, in any of the boiler plants during the weekends, rotating shifts, or in an overtime status.
