Administrative Officer North Little Rock, Arkansas Summary The purpose of this position is to serve as Administrative Officer to the Chief, Central Business Office (CBO), Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS). The incumbent has broad responsibility in the areas of public relations, administrative support, quality management, service-specific personnel management, staff education, reports control and administrative support. Duties Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Major Duties: Performs administrative work, which includes management of an office's schedule or day-today plans. Develops new plans or schedules using standard references. Identifies objectives based on understanding of program and overall priorities. Determines specific steps, input required, and/or meetings. Identifies schedules and milestones, and estimates resources required. Oversees a variety of administrative programs, including the distribution and dissemination of incoming mail, internal controls, records management, publication and forms management, and timesheets. Provides administrative support services to ensure inquiries, correspondence, and actions for the area of responsibility are addressed appropriately. Manages and/or prepares responses to correspondence and/or reports. Manages a wide variety of correspondence and/or reports from within and outside the agency and decides how to handle. Reviews and either: responds to the correspondence, routes it to the proper staff member, or consults with others prior to responding. Drafts initial or final correspondence and monitors such correspondence to ensure the action taken is completed
