Supervisory Recreation Specialist - Aquatics Coordinator Bangor, Washington Summary Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Aquatics Center; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NBK Bangor. Duties Assists in planning, and implementing a comprehensive, aquatics program, for active and retired military, authorized civilians, contractors, and dependents at multiple facilities. Program includes recreation swim, lap swim, water safety instruction, aquatic events, etc. Protects lives through aggressive prevention, preparedness, education, emergency medical, and rescue programs. Ensures all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to swimming pools and waterfronts are posted and observed. Performs water rescues and land rescues equal to the standard of training when an emergency is taking place (e.g. drowning, medical or trauma in the water, etc.). Manages respiratory, cardiac and first aid emergencies to include performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bag-valve-mask (BVM) resuscitation, or automatic external defibrillation (AED). Manages the use and maintenance of emergency equipment such as specialized kits and rescue bags, backboards, suction devices, splints, stretchers, and monitoring equipment. Develops and oversees emergency medical and rescue training, public education and other related educational and functional duties. Teaches various swimming skills and basic diving for all age groups. Prepares material for classes being taught. Ensures the safety of all patrons in the class. Ensures all maintenance work, water chemical testing,
