SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT) Bridgeport, California Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Duties You will serve as Station Chief with duties to direct f firefighting activities and assignments for the crew or crews in hazardous environments, until receiving instructions from a Chief Officer. You will assist the shift supervisor with planning work schedules and the sequence of operations to ensure an even flow and distribution of work at the fire station. You will direct crews in the performance of various standby duties at the station, including maintenance and inspection of equipment, execution of training, drills and the performance of low-risk fire prevention inspections. You will direct/assign crews to apparatus for the proper care and treatment of victims of accidents or medical emergencies. You will respond to emergency incident scenes and take charge of the firefighting operations, and determine best utilization of firefighters and equipment for combating/mitigating hazardous environment in the absence of the shift supervisor, You will instruct crew members by conducting lectures and drills concerning emergency medical services, firefighting techniques, and fire protection and prevention methods.
