SHEET METAL WORKER (AIRCRAFT) Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Duties You will perform a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components. You will disassemble, repair, assemble, modify, measure, and/or check, as required, to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assembles, and/or sub-assemblies. You will analyze and troubleshoot aircraft metal structures and components to determine repair or replacement needs. You will work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions and at times, under the guidance of a higher-graded mechanic. You will perform specialized work in aircraft systems that require advanced sheet metal skills, including hole-quality, cold working, and layout and design.
