PRINCIPAL DIRECTOR DEPUTY UNDER SECRETARY OF THE NAVY (POLICY) Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia Summary The Principal Director to the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Policy, is responsible managing highly sensitive foreign, defense, and security cooperation assignments for senior Department of the Navy leadership. The incumbent must demonstrate exemplary leadership to drive innovation, optimize resources, and cultivate a capabilities-focused organizational climate aligned with DoW strategic goals. Duties You will direct the long-range planning, analysis, and implementation of future Department of the Navy capabilities within the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Policy. You will represent the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Policy in developing and evaluating strategic policies, capabilities, requirements, and force posture across the enterprise. You will coordinate policy and capability options with the Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of War, Combatant Commanders, and senior United States Government agencies. You will champion and promote Department of the Navy interests during high-level engagements with senior officials from external federal departments and Interagency partners. You will build strategic relationships with private industry, think tanks, non-profit organizations, and foreign allies to actively advance Department of the Navy policy objectives. You will exercise independent judgment and initiative to execute the full range of responsibilities without requiring routine technical supervision.
