About this role

MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC LEADER (EXPERT) Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Oahu, Hawaii Summary You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC LEADER (EXPERT) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NAVAL SHIPYARD & IMF within the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY. Duties You will serve as a subject matter expert for the installation, alignment, repairs and tests of shipboard machinery, including engines, ordnance machinery, deck machinery and other components within the shop. You will lead, train, and mentor shop personnel performing disassembly, inspection, repair, test, shipboard lay-out and alignment, installation of steam turbines, reduction gears and other main propulsion components. You will complete inspection reports, review technical work documents and refer discrepancies to supervisors for appropriate action. You will monitor the diagnosis of malfunctions on ships and submarines and ensure repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment are in accordance with schematic drawings, operation manuals and manufacture's specifications. You will inspect completed work for quality and work requirements.
