INTERDISCIPLINARY INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER/OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST Patuxent River, Maryland Summary You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER/OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the SYSTEMS ACQUISITION GROUP and COST & SCHEDULE ANALYSIS DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. Duties You will provide technical support of products and services to program office customers on behalf of the Cost and Schedule Analysis Department. You will perform Acquisition Cost Estimating and Analysis for primarily complex systems in all phases of the life cycle (development, production, and sustainment). You will contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation for the Acquisition Cost Estimating and Analysis Division. You will develop the cost models, cost estimates and formal documentation necessary to ensure that management decisions are based on sound estimating and analysis principals. You will communicate completed products, methods and continuous improvements initiative efforts with the Team Lead, cognizant Subject Matter Experts and/or Supervisor. You will work mostly independently to produce estimating end products. You will help to develop/conduct informal and formal training sessions for junior members of the team your support. Education For the 0896 Series: Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry)
