INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Summary You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT of JOINT TYPHOON WARCEN PEARL HARBOR HI. Duties You will serve as the focal point for the administration and operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux workstations and servers, to include correcting security vulnerabilities in response to problems identified in vulnerability scan reports. You will plan, schedule, and participate in the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software supporting Joint Typhoon Warning Center operations and administration. You will serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and will assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in preparing authorization packages, monitoring system security, managing vulnerability scans, and responding to incidents. You will manage system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability, and hardware and software configuration. You will develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures. You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services. Education Knowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies are normally attained through the equivalent of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of the position being filled but may now be obtained through other means. Successfully completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Successfully completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
