About this role

DEPUTY TECHNICAL DIRECTOR Keyport, Washington Summary You will serve as the Deputy Technical Director for Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport. Duties You will be leading a highly technical scientific and engineering organization in the conduct of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation for Undersea Warfare (USW) systems, torpedoes, unmanned undersea vehicles, and defensive weapon systems. You will serve as a nationally/internationally recognized authority and lease in the area of USW systems and supporting technologies, including the technical aspects of improving the affordability and effectiveness of undersea weapons and vehicles. You will provide technical leadership and oversight of the long-term stewardship of the Division's Technical Capabilities. You will serve as a technical expert in Anti-Submarine Warfare, USW, Theater Undersea Warfare, and Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW), contributing to system design, testing and evaluation, in-service engineering, and life cycle supportability. You will be responsible for planning and overseeing Research and Development work executed by others in matrix fashion across the Division's technical Department. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: For 0801 Professional Engineering Series: A. Degree: Engineering. Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher engineering degree from an accredited college or university. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the
