Utility Systems Repairer-Operator Nageezi, New Mexico Summary This position is located in Chaco Culture National Historical Park, in the Facility Management Division. Position installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, upgrades, repairs, and calibrates a variety of utility systems that require journey level skills in various utility related trades (i.e., electrical equipment repair, plumbing, wastewater treatment operation and water treatment operation, etc.) For information, contact Denise Robertson at 505-634-6014 or [email protected] Duties Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, upgrade, repair and calibrate a variety of utility systems that require fully developed or journey level skills in various utility related trades such as electrical equipment repair, plumbing, wastewater treatment operation and water treatment operation. Must be able to adjust SCADA/equipment to meet the goals of calculated process control variables. Must be able to calculate chemical dosages for specific batch water/wastewater processes. Physical Effort: Work assignments typically require moderately heavy physical effort to lift, carry, or otherwise handle items typically weighing up to 40 pounds. Duties require the incumbent to maneuver into and out of specific locations while dismantling and assembling utility related equipment. The incumbent makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms where the parts of systems worked on are in hard-to reach places. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is typical. Occasionally, climbing and work in high places may be required, as well as the use of hoists, holders, and pulleys when handling large equipment.
