Field Unit Local Hiring Authority (FUL)-Maintenance Worker Multiple Locations Summary This position is located in Natchez Trace Parkway, in the Maintenance Division. Open until 06/16/2026 . See below under Additional Information for further eligibility guidance. Duties The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is April - October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: July 2026. These positions are located at the Natchez Trace Parkway in the all districts - Kosciusko District located near Kosciusko, Mississippi; Meriwether Lewis District, located near Hohenwald, Tennessee, Natchez District, located near Natchez, Mississippi, and the Port Gibson District located near Port Gibson, Mississippi; ; Cherokee District, located near Cherokee, Alabama, and the Tupelo District located near Tupelo, Mississippi. The primary function of Maintenance Worker is to collect and dispose of trash from roadsides, remove limbs and other obstructions from roadsides, leg stretcher trails and grounds, and clean restrooms and other facilities along the Parkway. Maintenance Workers also operate small equipment such as leaf blowers, string trimmers, Zero-turn mowers, and chainsaws. The Maintenance Worker uses common hand tools to perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance on all Parkway facilities and assist higher-graded employees on more complex tasks.
