Field Unit Local Authority (FUL) - Recreation Fee Technician Homestead, Florida Summary These positions are located in Everglades National Park, in the Division of Visitor and Resource Protection. These positions are being filled under the Field Unit Local Hiring Authority (FUL). See below under Additional Information for further eligibility guidance. Duties Prepare and complete remittance reports for funds donated and/or collected by others. Review shift reports and count funds collected. Verify funds collected against shift reports, journal and receipt tapes, and a register of refunded and voided transactions. Verify and confirm sales of pre-numbered receipts, passes, and/or tickets on register journal tapes and POS records. Create deposit tickets electronically through approved automated U.S. Treasury deposit systems (e.g., OTCnet). Verify that all deposits for sales and/or donations are accurate. Ensure all cash, check, credit card, and voucher sales are deposited in appropriate time frames and in the correct amount to the appropriate functional areas. Provide current and accurate information and excellent customer service to visitors concerning the NPS area and other surrounding areas of interest. Explain the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, wilderness/backcountry permits, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc. Distribute maps, brochures, and other printed material, inform visitors of potential safety hazards, and provide directions and routes of travel. Collect appropriate fees at a park entrance station, visitor center, campground, fee cannister, AFMs, donation boxes, and/or other visitor contact station(s) in accordance with established accountability guidelines for handling government funds.
