About this role
Chief Information Security Officer Location Negotiable After Selection Summary Department of the Interior structures its Senior Executive Service (SES) positions into categories to determine the minimum pay for each position. This is a category 4 position. The minimum pay for this position is $186,207. Pay is set based on consideration of the selectee's current salary and other factors. Veterans preference does not apply to the SES. Duties The position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at the Department of the Interior (Department) and reports to the Chief Information Officer. The incumbent carries out the following specific responsibilities: 1. Provides executive leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of information security policy and guidance. Collaborates with bureaus and offices, oversight agencies, and the Congress on matters relating to protecting Interior's information assets. 2. Serves as a key technical advisor to the Chief Information Officer, Departmental leadership, and bureau leadership on all aspects of information technology security. Maintains the Department's IT security scorecard and briefs at the Secretary/Assistant Secretary/Bureau-Office Chief Levels. Coordinates the Department's information security program at the executive level and below throughout Interior including meetings with Interior's management councils and CIOs. 3. Ensures the Department is in compliance with all Executive orders and associated Office of Management and Budget directives and guidance. Ensures compliance with Binding operational directives developed by the Department of Homeland Security, which are developed in response to a known or reasonably suspected information security threat, vulnerability or risk. 4.
