Utility Systems Repairer - Operator (MVO) Fort Jackson, South Carolina Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA to meet Critical Hiring Needs for recruitment and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as an Utility Systems Repairer - Operator (Motor Vehicle Operator) with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC Duties Operates, maintains and performs miscellaneous repairs of boilers and associated equipment to ensure medium-temperature hot water (MTW) production at adequate quantities, pressures, and temperatures. Operates, maintains and performs miscellaneous repairs of centrifugal chillers and associated equipment to ensure chilled water (CHW) production at adequate quantities, pressures, and temperatures. Operates and maintains the Energy Management Control System (EMCS) which monitors and controls the mechanical equipment. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
