SUPERVISORY SPECIMEN CONTROLLER (FORENSIC) Fort Meade, Maryland Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. Duties Answer questions, resolves unusual situations, and provides overall guidance on all specimen-processing policies and procedures. Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of memorandums explaining deviations from Standard Operating Procedures that are required for legal documentation purposes. Provide advice to laboratory management on proposed changes in procedures in order to improve laboratory services. Perform mutual quality control checks on the work of fellow Specimen Controllers on a daily basis. Perform technical and administrative support functions necessary for successful unit mission accomplishment. Perform the full range of supervisory duties for a staff of 8-11 employees at the GS-06 and GS-07 level. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities and prepares schedules for the completion of work. Assure production and accuracy requirements are met. Apply the pertinent laws and regulations to coordinate workflow with other sections of the laboratory.
