MACHINIST (Title 32) Groton, Connecticut Summary THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG), Groton, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard. Duties This position is located within TASMG Projects and may be extended or terminated at the discretion of the TASMG Commander. JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to accomplish a variety of machinist and welding tasks in support of the Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG). The majority of the machinist duties relate to the fabrication of tools and special equipment otherwise not available. The welding is primarily for maintenance of ground support equipment, fabrication of tools and special equipment, and repair of equipment such as gear box support castings, combustor housings, rocket launcher racks, missile racks, engine mount assembly repair, etc. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Operates a variety of shop machines, including the engine lathe, milling machine, radial or sensitive drill press, grinding machine, bench lathe, bench grinder, shaper, planner, saws, horizontal and vertical boring mill, and jig boring machine. Interprets blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications. Manufactures, repairs, tests, inspects, and reworks metal devices
