FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER (TITLE 32) Morrisville, North Carolina Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2711000 and is part of the NC ASO, National Guard (ASO-AASF #1/ Manning Document 4141-225). ***** THIS POSITION IS NIGHT SHIFT ***** Duties As a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER, WG-5413-10, you will receive, store, transfer, and distribute bulk petroleum products and provides oversight to lower-graded employees. Validates documentation and fuel received from incoming shipments for proper identification of fuel and examines cargo for proper seals, safety regulations, and environment control systems. Connects grounding wire and hoses and activates pumps, valves, and gages during pumping operation. Takes temperature reading, determine American Petroleum Institute (API) gravity and converts volumes of fuel at standard temperature. Ensures gage, scale, and/or meter readings, amounts of fuel received and issued, and fuel invoices are kept on file. Reports any defects, shortages, or overage in shipments to the supervisor. Performs preventative maintenance checks and services on the fuel distribution system, including lubricating pump bearings, changing strainer filters, and adding anti-algae and other additives to fuels, and obtaining and scheduling required system maintenance tests or repairs. Performs daily visual inspections of fuel facilities to inspect for leaks in storage tanks, surplus fuels, and pollution or fire concerns. Check for proper lighting, fence, and locking systems on a regular basis, as required by Defense Logistics Agency-Energy (DLA-E). To ensure that fuel facilities satisfy
