CYS Specialist (School Liaison Services) NF-04 Fort Knox, Kentucky Summary This position is located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Duties Serves as the school liaison officer (SLO) with responsibility for the oversight of all installation Child and Youth Services (CYS) issues involving public schools and their relationship to the local military community. Functions as an intermediary between and advocate for parents/youth and school administrators. Assesses needs and serves as the focal point for gathering and disseminating information concerning the local schools. Works closely with the Youth Education Liaison Services (YELS) Specialist and other CYS staff to successfully integrate CYS initiatives Programs with school resources to meet the needs of constituents. Serves as a member of the Installation Child and Youth Evaluation Team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and CYS baseline standards. Ensures program contributes to achieving and maintaining DoD certification. Serves as Subject Matter Expert on installation child and youth SLS. Prepares reports, surveys, and briefings for command and installation on matters pertaining to SLS. Procures supplies and equipment to support program goals and objectives.
