About this role

Recreation Equipment Repairer (Equestrian Center) Air Force Academy, Colorado Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Equestrian Center, Air Force Academy, Colorado. This position does not include benefits. . Duties Operates vehicles and equipment including but not limited to tractors, UTV's, trucks, livestock trailers, dump truck, skid steer and other types of farm vehicles, trailers, and equipment as necessary. Drive trucks and farm vehicles to move grain, hay, bedding, and other supplies to and from various barns and storage areas. Safely utilizes tractors and skid steer using appropriate implements to clean corrals, load manure into spreader, dump truck and/or dump trailer. Empty truck or trailer in designated areas. Safely loads/unloads and moves hay bales, pallets of feed and bedding, and other supplies. Performs daily maintenance inspections and minor maintenance on tractors, vehicles, and equipment. Reports Equipment needs to EC Management. Makes minor repairs to fences and facility. Performs maintenance and cleaning checks on tractors, trailers, and farm equipment. Proficient in hitching procedures. Effectively performs minor maintenance on other items as required. As required, replaces internal engine components, ie: rings, pistons, valves, gaskets, rods and bearings according to manufacturer's specifications when required. Checks all equipment for loose components and ensures it properly works before renting to a customer. Changes oil, spark plugs, filters, belts as required. Must be able to work with the Vehicle Control Officer to ensure all vehicles under the Outdoor Recreation umbrella have current registration and all necessary forms
