About this role

This is a formal Air Force intern position, established under the PALACE ACQUIRE (PAQ) program; as such, it is centrally managed and funded by the Air Force Personnel Center, Civilian Career Management Directorate and administered by the Weather Career Program, HQ AFPC/DPZ, 550 C Street, Randolph AFB Texas 78150. Duties In a developmental capacity serve as a professional meteorologist in the organization for meteorological issues affecting the organization's ability to accomplish its mission. - Performs recurring developmental work assignments. - In a developmental capacity, participates in special initiatives, studies and projects. - Participates in meetings, assists with presentations and prepares routine correspondence. - Prepares written correspondence and other documentation. Education This position has an education requirement. You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html. Basic Requirements: Degree: meteorology, atmospheric science, or other natural science major that included: At least 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of credit in meteorology/atmospheric science including a minimum of: Six semester hours of atmospheric dynamics and thermodynamics;* Six semester hours of analysis and prediction of weather systems (synoptic/mesoscale); Three semester hours of physical meteorology; and Two semester hours of remote sensing of the atmosphere and/or instrumentation; Six semester hours of physics, with at least one course that includes laboratory sessions.* Three semester hours of ordinary differential equations.*
