About this role
Maintenace Worker Maxwell AFB, Alabama Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Maintenance Department at University Inn Lodging on Maxwell/Gunter AFB, Alabama. This position is a Regular Part-Time. You are guaranteed 20 hours, however you could work up to 35 hours per week. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave and benefits, to include Health/Dental, Life Insurance, Employer Matching 401K and NAF Retirement. Duties Purpose of this position is to perform general maintenance duties for the lodging operation. Incumbent may also be required to lead federal inmates in the performance of general maintenance duties. Physical effort: Physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. The following are duties you may be required to accomplish but it is not all inclusive: Electrical: Checks for proper insulation and causes of malfunctions in equipment. Repair or replace minor equipment that is not in safe operating condition. Installs fuses, switches, light bulbs and outlets. Replaces old motors, garbage disposals, fans and lights. Responsible for replacing bulbs and florescent fixtures and ceiling fans. Plumbing: Performs minor routine maintenance; unstopping urinals, sinks and commodes. Repairs water lines, hookups to install sinks, drain traps and faucets. Makes a variety of minor plumbing repairs that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, replacing,
