ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER - INTERDISCIPLINARY Laughlin AFB, Texas Summary The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a developmental Environmental Engineer (GS-11 TARGET GS-12) with project management, execution, and operations responsibility in assigned project(s) within an environmental program element. Duties FOR GS-11: Monitors and manages assigned environmental projects through application of professional knowledge and skill in Environmental Engineer (0819) practices, processes and techniques. Responsible for executing assigned projects, in-house and by contract, to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local environmental laws and policies. Coordinates curricula and training for assigned program areas at the installation. Provides advisory services on questions, issues, and projects in assigned program areas. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures, and performs work that enhances the safety of the work environment. FOR GS-12: Provides extensive environmental expertise to manage assigned environmental projects or programs through application of professional knowledge and skill in Environmental Engineer (0819) practices, processes and techniques. Responsible for executing assigned projects or program element(s), in-house and by contract, to comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies. Provides advisory services on specific problems, projects, programs, and functions in assigned program area.
