About this role
ELECTRONICS MECHANIC Vandenberg AFB, California Summary Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information. Base is located in a high cost of living area. The primary purpose of this position is to install, check-out, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform production inspector duties for complete missile/special weapons electronics operational system(s) consisting of numerous complex integral components. Duties - Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, calibrates, and repairs a complete missile/special weapons operating system consisting of numerous complex integral components. - Sets up, operates, troubleshoots, and repairs software controlled automatic test equipment (ATE) to test and troubleshoot complex electronics components and systems. - Uses and maintain hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, wrenches, soldering irons, pliers, wire cutters, wire strippers, crimping devices, soldering irons, und micro-soldering units. - Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. - Performs Maintenance Control Officer, Assistant Maintenance Control Officer, and Maintenance Control Officer Advisor duties as part of the Squadron's countdown team.
