AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR Barksdale AFB, Louisiana Summary This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Sortie Support Flight Chief Air reserve Technician (ART) exercising technical and administrative supervision through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing direct aircraft sortie support activities in the accomplishment of unit flying schedules and maintenance plans, to assign priorities to aircraft production work, direct actions to resolve resource shortages in a Sortie Support Flight (SSF), and to train reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein. Responsible for the integrated production required to support permanently assigned and transient aircraft, as required. Position functions as the primary supervisor. Duties: 1: Performs work planning responsibilities. Performs work direction responsibilities.
