About this role

AIRCRAFT MECHANIC LEADER Dover AFB, Delaware Summary Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information. The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards. Duties - Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area. - Performs work. Performs nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led. - Performs inspections and troubleshooting on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components. Accomplishes operational and maintenance record keeping, both manual and automated, associated with aircraft maintenance and repair. - Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components. Directs a crew of up to 9 personnel in jacking and leveling of the aircraft. - Acts as the Team Lead responsible for overseeing work on Crash Damaged Disabled Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) operations.
